Today, we see growing interest from investors all over the world toward Georgia`s financial sector, both from traditional banking activities and a wide range of financial service providers - Prime Minister

Today, we see growing interest from investors all over the world toward Georgia`s financial sector, both from traditional banking activities and a wide range of financial service providers. Such a statement the Prime Minister of Georgia made at the 51st International Conference of the Banking Association for Central and Eastern Europe [BACEE].

As he noted, the regulatory framework of Georgia`s financial sector is transparent and flexible.

"Today, we see an increase in growing interest from investors worldwide toward Georgia`s financial sector, encompassing both traditional banking activities and a wide spectrum of financial service providers. This is reinforced by the continuous efforts of the Government and the National Bank to promote competition, encourage innovation, and further develop the financial ecosystem.

It is also important to note that the regulatory framework of Georgia`s financial sector is transparent and flexible. It closely aligns with international standards. Furthermore, it fosters innovation, lowers market entry barriers for new players, and maintains financial stability.

In this regard, the National Bank of Georgia has introduced a wide range of licensing formats aimed at supporting innovation and expanding financial services. These include the microbank framework and digital bank licensing. Additionally, a regulatory framework for virtual asset service providers has been established, creating new opportunities for financial technologies and market participants.

As the banking sector grows, Georgia`s capital markets are also developing. Interest in both government and corporate bonds is increasing, which facilitates the diversification of funding sources. Together, these efforts shape a more dynamic, competitive, and future-oriented financial ecosystem, opening new opportunities for sustainable investment growth.

Georgia remains an open economy, ready to deepen ties with our international partners for stronger cooperation and to reach new goals. I am confident that today`s discussion will offer practical paths forward and contribute to the future strengthening of the banking sector", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
