The doors of Sioni remained open until late. Parishioners were able to enter the Cathedral and pay their respects to the newly buried Patriarch until 22:00.

The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II was buried in the Sioni Cathedral yesterday, March 22.

It should be mentioned that he is the ninth Patriarch of Georgia to find his final resting place within the Sioni Cathedral.
