The Patriarch of Jerusalem sends a letter of condolences over the death of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia.

Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem has extended his condolences to the people of Georgia and the Georgian Orthodox Church following the passing of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Church of Georgia on the passing of His Holiness and Beatitude. He was an example of faith, virtue, education, and steadfast witness in Christ. The Church mourns in a human sense, yet rejoices spiritually in the hope of Resurrection", the letter reads.

The message further highlights that the departed patriarch was a faithful steward of divine mysteries and became a symbol of unity for his people. He is remembered as a shepherd who served his Church with wisdom, calmness, and paternal care, leaving behind a lasting legacy of faith, prayer, and devotion", - writes the Patriarch of Jerusalem.

He also expressed its spiritual solidarity with the Georgian Apostolic Orthodox Church, offering prayers for the clergy, members of the Holy Synod, and the faithful people of Georgia: "We ask Your Holiness, the honorable members of the Holy Synod, and the pious people of the Georgian Church to accept our patriarchal prayers from the Holy City of Jerusalem in the month of March".
