The location has been chosen - Ilia II will be buried on the left side of the altar in the Sioni Cathedral.

The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia is currently lying in state at the Holy Trinity Cathedral. On March 22, he will be buried at the Sioni Patriarchal Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God in Tbilisi.

His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, passed away at the age of 93. Days of mourning have been declared in Georgia through March 22.
