Investigation Service detained 2 persons on the fact of illegal storage and transportation of particularly large amount of non-excised alcohol

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained two individuals for the illegal storage and transportation of alcohol products without excise marks in particularly large amount.

Investigation determined that accused, in order to obtain material benefit, illegally stored and transported for further sale various alcoholic beverages subject to mandatory marking ("BELUGA", "GREY GOOSE", "NEFT", "ABSOLUT", "СНЕЖНЫЙ БАРС", "SVEDSKAY"), the estimated value of which exceeds GEL 140 000.

Investigation Service detained accused persons on the fact of illegal storage and transportation of non-excised products.

At this stage, investigative activities are ongoing to identify and expose other persons who might be involved in the crime.

Investigation is underway under Article 200, Part 2, Subparagraph "c" and Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides imprisonment for a term of 6 to 8 years.
