It is highly positive that the US prioritizes the transparency of foreign influence. What we have been arguing for years - and what our opponents and foreign assets labeled as the "Russian law" - has proven to be the bedrock of democracy. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia, when commenting on the US legislation that obligates individuals to register as foreign agents.

As he noted, transparency is absolutely the foundation of democracy, and transparency must be strengthened in all democratic countries.

"Transparency is one of the fundamental principles of democracy. It is very good that the US cares about the transparency of foreign influence; what we have been asserting over the past years, and what our political opponents and foreign agents called the “Russian law”, turned out to be the very foundation of democracy. Of course, transparency is absolutely the foundation of democracy, and transparency must be strengthened in all democratic countries. We took serious care of this in Georgia, which has yielded its results. It is one of the main priorities for us that any foreign political influence is conducted transparently", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
