Priority areas of cooperation between Georgia and the United States, as well as prospects for the further development of bilateral ties in trade, energy, transport and logistics, investment, and connectivity, were discussed in a meeting between Georgian Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili and the newly appointed US Chargé d’Affaires ad interim to Georgia, Courtney Austrian.

Particular attention was paid to the role of the Middle Corridor in strengthening regional connectivity and Georgia’s readiness to accommodate growing cargo flows between Asia and Europe.

The Georgian side provided a detailed overview of the Government’s strategic vision for developing the country’s transport and logistics infrastructure and enhancing Georgia’s competitiveness along the Middle Corridor.

The discussions highlighted key infrastructure projects, including the Anaklia Deep Sea Port, railway modernisation, the East-West Highway, the construction of a new airport in Tbilisi, the broader development of the country’s aviation sector. The sides also reviewed progress on the Black Sea Submarine Energy Cable project.
