Georgia has a 7% economic growth, what wouldn’t we give to have such economic growth ourselves - Slovak Foreign Minister

Georgia has a 7% economic growth; what wouldn’t we give to have such economic growth ourselves, stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia, Juraj Blanár, at the joint briefing held after the meeting with his Georgian counterpart, Maka Botchorishvili.

“We talked about economic cooperation. Georgia has a 7% economic growth. To be honest, we would give anything to have such a figure ourselves. That is precisely why we have the desire and want to deepen our economic diplomacy.

It hasn’t been long since the economic cooperation agreement was signed between Slovakia and Georgia.

Today, together with the Minister, we agreed to work intensively on cooperation in this direction in the future. For example, we will continue to develop the agreement on investments.

At today’s meeting, we also discussed the issue of Georgia as a candidate for EU membership.

Slovakia supports the dialogue between Tbilisi and Brussels, because the goal of European diplomacy is to maintain dialogues and clarify positions.

We know what stage this process is at now, and communication between the parties is necessary to ensure we are right and to exclude the disinformation that does not correspond to the truth. Additionally, we raised the issue of Georgia chairing the OSCE. Since Georgia can make a significant contribution to security issues, we welcome Georgia"s candidacy”, - said Juraj Blanár.
