The US seeks constructive relations with Georgia, we will discuss steps that will confirm the Government`s serious attitude towards strengthening relations – Department of State

The United States is striving to maintain constructive relations with Georgia, reads the statement, shared with a Georgian online media outlet Netgazeti by a Spokesperson of the US Department of State.

"The United States has been Georgia`s preferred partner for 33 years. We continue to be a steadfast supporter of Georgia`s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The US seeks constructive relations with Georgia.

A peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, mediated by President Donald Trump, presents a transformative opportunity for the entire South Caucasus. Georgia can both contribute to and benefit significantly from the stability and prosperity made possible by the agreement.

The US will continue engaging with the Georgian Government on issues affecting bilateral relations and Georgia`s political environment. Besides, we will consider specific steps the Georgian Government could take to demonstrate a serious commitment to strengthening and advancing relations between the two countries", - says the US Department of State.
