We will cooperate with the court as much as possible to make a timely decision and finally put an end to the unfair criticism, falsification and disinformation attack that took place during the parliamentary elections - Makhashvili

We welcome this process and hope that it will once and for all put an end to the allegations of fraud that the society has seen surrounding the 2024 elections.

Such a statement made today Levan Makhashvili, MP from the Georgian Dream, while commenting the complaint filed by the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association [GYLA] with the Strasbourg Court regarding the 2024 parliamentary elections.

“We are deeply hopeful and eager for this process to conclude soon.

Naturally, such proceedings will take several months, possibly more than a year, but we will do everything in our power to assist the court in reaching a timely and definitive resolution.

We aim to finally put an end to the unjust criticism, falsification, and disinformation campaigns that targeted Georgia during the parliamentary elections, campaigns that many Europeans, who claim to be friends of Georgia, continue to exploit for unjust critique”, - added Levan Makhashvili.

The GYLA said today that the Strasbourg Court commenced examination of complaints submitted concerning the 2024 parliamentary elections. GYLA clarifies that their demands do not include the annulment of the election results.
