Work is ongoing tirelessly to prevent disruptions caused by heavy snowfall across Tbilisi - Kaladze

Work is ongoing tirelessly to prevent disruptions caused by heavy snowfall across the capital. Such a statement the Mayor of Tbilisi made during a live broadcast alongside Deputy Mayor Irakli Bendeliani.

"All central streets have been cleared. Both private vehicles and public transport are moving smoothly. However, heavy snowfall has posed some challenges. There are areas where public transport cannot reach, especially in remote territories. Internal roads and dead ends will be addressed later. Our priority is the main avenues and thoroughfares, work on internal roads is also progressing.

This effort will continue without pause. I want to thank the Tbilservice staff, local government officials, contractor companies, Ministry of Internal Affairs, 112, and everyone involved in this operation… We urged drivers to refrain from travelling without winter tires to avoid further issues", - said Kakha Kaladze.

"Work is ongoing 24/7, involving not only the Tbilservice Group but also local government departments, the City Hall’s Infrastructure Service, and their contractor partners.

We are clearing central roads and gradually moving to internal streets in a continuous effort. All requests received through the hotline are being addressed. Naturally, it`s impossible to clear every street and alley in Tbilisi immediately, but we are progressing steadily, prioritizing key routes. We are prepared to keep the city clear and assist residents 24 hours a day", - added Irakli Bendeliani.
