They do this because they do not want the people to agree, whether it is May 8 or May 9, August 7 or August 8, December 25 or January 7 - Papuashvili on Saakashvili’s post regarding the date of Christmas celebration

Speaker of the Georgian Parliament responds to a post by Mikheil Saakashvili, in which the former president expressed his desire for the country to celebrate Christmas on December 25.

“This statement is a continuation of external influences aimed at sowing division within Georgian society… They do this because they do not want the people to agree - whether it is May 8 or May 9, August 7 or August 8, December 25 or January 7. All of this is part of harmful external interference, previously led by the former US administration, which spent millions on it.

The new US administration has completely changed this policy, exposed this harmful interference, and today it is the EU that is engaged in fomenting division, hatred, and violence in Georgia. Look closely - wherever there is violence, the EU flag is waving. Wherever there is hatred, the EU flag is waving. Wherever there is resentment or personal attacks, the EU flag is waving. It is shameful that they equate themselves with violence, hatred, and Molotov cocktails.

Brussels must change its policy, otherwise it risks falling into an abyss… But we do not want to be dragged into that civilizational abyss where Brussels is taking the EU today”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
