President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, has signed legislative amendments related to assemblies and demonstrations.

This week, the Parliament considered and approved a Draft Law on Assemblies and Demonstrations in an expedited manner, as a result of which the restrictions related to assemblies and demonstrations will be extended to rallies held on pedestrian paths.

According to the Law, it is prohibited to artificially block people’s paths, unless the number of participants in the assembly or demonstration requires it.

It is also prohibited to block people`s paths with vehicles, various structures and objects.
