Mayor of Tbilisi has concluded an official visit to the Hungarian capital, Budapest. As Kakha Kaladze said, Georgia must have the support of international partners who share the country`s commitment to freedom, democracy and sovereignty.
"First and foremost, I must emphasise the meeting with the country`s Foreign Minister, Péter Szijjártó, during which we discussed the friendly relations between our two nations and the prospects for their further strengthening. We reviewed developments in the region and the grave situation caused by the Russo-Ukrainian war. In addition, particular attention was paid to pseudo-liberal ideology, which is self-obsessed and poses a serious challenge to the world. The Hungarian Foreign Minister once again expressed his full support and solidarity, and also conveyed the support of the country’s Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, for our country`s sovereignty and the Georgian people.
I want to take this opportunity once again to thank Hungary, its government and the Prime Minister for their steadfast support and solidarity with the Georgian people and our state. We are pleased that both Georgia and Hungary are fighting for the truth. In today`s circumstances, this is extremely important.
As part of the visit, I had the honour of participating in an international conference on urban development issues in European cities, where the main focus was on challenges facing cities and ways to address them. Particular attention was drawn to the development of public transport and the comfort of mobility, the results achieved in this direction, and projects planned for the future.
In addition, we discussed strategies for addressing dilapidated housing and replacing outdated, obsolete lifts, including our approach and the specific programmes we are implementing. We also learned how various European cities have responded to challenges that are relevant to us today.
For our country, the support of international partners who share our country`s freedom, democracy and sovereignty, with whom we have common values and the desire to, first and foremost, protect the interests of our citizens, is absolutely fundamental and important.
Therefore, such visits, the sharing of mutual experience and bringing best practices to our capital, improving the quality of life for our citizens, is one of our main priorities", - said Kakha Kaladze.
