Officers of Tbilisi Main Division of the Patrol Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested 2 individuals: V.G., born in 1984, and K.S., born in 1969, on charges of illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms and ammunition.

The committed crime envisions up to 7 years of imprisonment.

Patrol inspectors stopped the defendants in Tbilisi at various times for verification while operating vehicles. As a result of a search of the vehicles, law enforcement officers seized illegal firearms, ammunition and magazines as evidence.

The investigation is underway under Article 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia
