Prime Minister of Georgia underlined Government’s strict migration policy, which allowed it to protect national interests, and further vowed to continue work with this approach in the future.

During a hearing in the Parliament, he also talked about the challenges related to the demographic issue, which required a complex approach.

“Demography is one of the main challenges for our country. Last year, first time in recent years when the number of Georgian citizens entering Georgia exceeded the number of citizens leaving. In previous years, we had a big disadvantage. We also have serious problems with the birth-death ratio. We have challenges in both natural increase and migration, although this is a separate issue and we can discuss it in detail within the framework of a separate hearing. A complex approach is required to resolve this issue. Most importantly, we have a strict migration policy, which allows us to protect our national interests, and we will continue to work with this approach in the future”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze
