We have not halted EU integration, EU officially confirmed it suspended dialogue with Georgia on June 27, 2024 - Kobakhidze

Prime Minister of Georgia said today in the Parliament that the Government had not halted any process of European integration.

“What had been publicly stated multiple times, and mainly discussed by the EU Ambassador, was later confirmed officially in documents.

On June 27, 2024, the European bureaucracy itself made the decision to suspend dialogue with Georgia, which was an extremely unfair decision toward the Georgian people. Later, they absurdly claimed that we had halted something that they themselves had already suspended in June. Such a level of demagoguery is not befitting of the European bureaucracy in general, yet we see that even moral principles within the European bureaucracy have been violated, which is very regrettable. We hope that these approaches will change in the future and the European bureaucracy’s attitude toward the Georgian people will also change.

Georgia’s foreign policy orientation is reflected in the country’s Constitution, and the relevant provision was added to the Constitution thanks to the efforts of our Government”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
