European media publish alternative peace plan for Ukraine

European countries have prepared an alternative peace plan to end Russia`s war against Ukraine, which differs significantly from the plan proposed by the administration of Donald Trump, writes The Telegraph.

It is noted that the European peace plan aligns much more closely with Ukraine`s interests and does not include concessions to Russia that are present in the American version. In particular, the European proposal does not limit the size of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, does not prohibit Ukraine’s NATO membership, and explicitly states that Kyiv will not be forced to adopt a neutral status. Ukraine will also be able, at its own discretion, to invite "friendly forces" to its territory - including troops from the Coalition of the Willing.

In addition, the European document provides for:

-an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, to be monitored by the United States and European countries;
-legally binding security guarantees for Ukraine, including from the United States, modeled on NATO’s Article 5;
-no territorial concessions - border issues will be discussed after the ceasefire;
-the return of control over the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and the Kakhovka dam to Kyiv;
-full restoration and compensation for damages, including through the use of frozen Russian assets;
-the possibility of imposing sanctions on Russia automatically in case of violation of peace terms.
