The declarations will be examined by an independent constitutional body, the State Audit Office, which is a strong institution, and accordingly, the general system in practice will be strengthened in this regard. Such a statement the Prime Minister of Georgia made in the interview with "Imedi LIVE".
As he said, the overall picture will essentially remain the same, because the main bodies that have been engaged in the activity called the fight against corruption to this day are the Government with its administration, its specific department, the State Anti-Corruption Agency, the State Audit Office, and the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia.
"When we began an intensified fight against corruption, we gathered precisely these bodies. When we used to meet on this topic, when it came to the fight against corruption, the Government representatives with their ministries, the Prosecutor`s Office, the Audit Office, and the Audit Service gathered. These constitutional bodies ultimately have the function of fighting corruption. Accordingly, the system remains essentially the same, it is just that this system is now in line with the constitutional framework", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
