A joint search and rescue operation by three countries is underway at the site of the crash of a Turkish military plane in Kakheti.
Interior Minister Geka Geladze, together with his deputy and chiefs of various police units, inspected the site of the plane crash and received detailed information regarding the ongoing activities from the leadership of relevant departments of the Agency.
A Turkish military plane crashed in Sighnaghi Municipality, approximately 5 km from the Georgian state border. It was established that the flight took off from Azerbaijan and was heading to the direction of Turkey.
The incident is being investigated under Article 275, Part IV of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to a violation of the safety or operation rules of air transport, which resulted in the loss of human life.
