The war in Ukraine could have been avoided, but the international community did little to fully focus on it. Such a statement the Prime Minister of Georgia made in an interview with TRT WORLD.
"President Trump says that this war would not have happened during his presidency, and I fully agree with that. Of course, this war could have been avoided, but the international community did little to fully focus on it. And in the end, you see that Ukraine is now destroyed. They face huge problems, there are so many casualties, infrastructure is destroyed, the economy is destroyed", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
When asked whether he perceives this war as a proxy war between Russia and the US, he stated that it is a proxy war between the Western community and Russia: "The US administration says that this is a proxy war. I would not say that it is the United States, but it is a proxy war between the Western community and Russia. Therefore, I am simply repeating the wording of the new US administration".
