French President Emmanuel Macron invites Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to the first International Space Summit in Paris

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, received an official invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron to attend the first International Space Summit, scheduled to take place in Paris on September 9-10.

According to the invitation, the summit will be co-chaired by France and Germany and will focus on key issues related to science, research, security, and defense in the space sector.

"Mr. Prime Minister, Dear Irakli, I have the honor of inviting you to the first International Space Summit, which will be held in Paris on September 9–10. Today, more than ever, space represents a key driver of power and prosperity. The dynamism of industrial stakeholders, the growing dual-use civil and military applications of space technologies, and intensifying global competition call for coordinated action to fully unlock their technological potential and accelerate the sustainable and responsible development of the space economy.

The summit would provide an opportunity to emphasize the importance of dialogue and cooperation not only among states but also between companies and multilateral stakeholders.

Participants would discuss ways to ensure the long-term sustainability of space activities for the benefit of future generations. Furthermore, we will have the opportunity to showcase the expertise of our space industries and agencies, as well as the high standard of our cooperation on scientific, industrial, technical, and economic levels. It is particularly important for us, together with you and other invited countries, to define the format of the summit so that the event concludes with strong declarations and concrete actions.

Our goal is to make this meeting a unique opportunity to reaffirm the importance of addressing space-related challenges and to support the multilateral cooperation in space that is needed today more than ever.

I count on your support and look forward to welcoming you to Paris in September 2026. Please accept, Mr. Prime Minister, the assurances of my highest consideration", - reads the official invitation received by the Prime Minister of Georgia from the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron.
