General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested 1 person on charges of drug-related crimes

As a result of investigative, procedural and operational measures carried out by the employees of the General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the Prosecutor General`s Office, T.Gh., born in 1978, was arrested on charges of illegal purchase and storage of a large amount of narcotic drugs.

The committed crime envisions up to 8 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that T.Gh., an employee of the Land Border Protection Department of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, illegally purchased a large amount of narcotic drugs Buprenorphine and Alpha-PVP, which he illegally stored in the vehicle he was driving.

Law enforcement officers seized narcotic drugs as evidence during a search of the detainee`s car. The investigation is in progress under Article 260, Part II of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
