Following growing questions about the activities of the German Ambassador Peter Fischer in Georgia, Alternative for Germany (AfD) political party has submitted new inquiries to the Bundestag.

In particular, members of the AfD are seeking detailed information about which non-governmental organisations operating in Georgia receive support from the German federal government - either through projects funded by the German Society for International Cooperation or by other means.

The AfD is interested in identifying Georgian NGOs that are closely affiliated with opposition parties, have been directly or indirectly supported by the Government of Germany.

Another question raised by the party concerns whether certain media outlets in Georgia have received - or are expected to receive - any form of federal financial support between 2020 and 2025.
