Yesterday, the Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg once again missed an important opportunity for EU Commissioners and Ministers to condemn the violent storming of the Georgian presidential palace on October 4, writes Speaker of the Georgian Parliament on his Facebook page.

“Rather than condemning the violence, we heard again the propagation of false narratives against Georgia.

Covering for the perpetrators is an excuse for violence, and offering such excuses only encourages further violence.

Brussels must return to fundamental European values and refuse to endorse violence as a means to achieve political ends”, - writes Shalva Papuashvili.
