They’re fighting the Georgian people and framing filth to encourage criminality and violence, to divide society - Kaladze on EPP’s statement

Mayor of Tbilisi called the European People’s Party’s [EPP] demand regarding the imposition of sanctions an example of double standards with the media.

“This is an example of double standards. These associations, parties, and specific high-ranking officials are under the influence of the Deep State.

They’re fighting the Georgian people and framing filth to encourage criminality and violence, to divide society. Most importantly, Georgian people have analyzed well who is who and who has what interest regarding Georgia”, - said Kakha Kaladze.

He explained why this party is fighting and demanding the sanctioning of Bidzina Ivanishvili.

“Bidzina Ivanishvili is a significant figure in the country, who enjoys great affection in Georgian society. In 2012, he united the majority of the population and defeated the country’s enemies, the so-called Global War Party, which is present not only in Georgia but also in various countries worldwide. With his firm character, he demonstrated how important the homeland’s interests are, which is why we shouldn’t be surprised that today those they’re fighting against are Bidzina Ivanishvili”, - added the Mayor.

The EPP released a statement regarding recent events in Georgia. According to the statement, “the EPP calls on the EU and its member states to impose targeted sanctions on Bidzina Ivanishvili and his enablers complicit in undermining democracy, human rights, and the rule of law in Georgia”.
