Minister of Internal Affairs visited law enforcement officers injured as a result of the illegal actions from the side of protest participants in Tbilisi on October 4 of the current year.
Geka Geladze received detailed information from doctors regarding the health condition of the injured officers and thanked officers for performing official duties with dignity.
“More than 30 police officers were injured in yesterday’s violent protest, some of whom were discharged home with moderate injuries.
Only two law enforcement officers remain in the medical facility, whose condition was quite serious yesterday, but today we are relatively stable.
According to the doctors, we will soon get better.
I would like to thank each police officer who took part in yesterday’s protest - proportional force was used to a fairly high standard. I also want the public to know that any violation of the law will be met with the strictest response. A “peaceful overthrow” did not take place, but I can say with confidence that a peaceful dispersal took place indeed”, - said Geka Geladze.
