The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Georgia, Hyondoo Kim. The discussion addressed the meeting held in the Parliament of the Republic of Korea with the so-called "Minister of Culture of Abkhazia," as well as the issue of the so-called "opening of a cultural center".
The Ambassador expressed regret regarding the incident and emphasized that the position of the Republic of Korea concerning Georgia’s territorial integrity remains unchanged and firm. He reaffirmed that the Republic of Korea does not recognize Abkhazia as an independent state and regards it as an integral part of Georgia - an approach repeatedly confirmed by the Government of the Republic of Korea.
With regard to the so-called "cultural center", the Ambassador underlined that no authorization has been issued by the Government of the Republic of Korea for the establishment or operation of such a center. Consequently, under the legislation of the Republic of Korea, its functioning is not possible.
