At the invitation of the US Secretary of State, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the US, Tamar Taliashvili attended an event at the State Department.
The reception was hosted by Deputy Secretary of State, Michael Rigas at the Benjamin Franklin State Dining Room of the Department of State. Attendees of the event included high-ranking officials from the Trump Administration and Department of State, as well as spiritual leaders and the diplomatic corps.
Among them was the newly appointed chair of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, Vicky Hartzler. In discussion with the chair, the Ambassador underscored the importance of deepening future cooperation.
The event was hosted in honor of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, Bartholomew I.
