According to a new document registered with the US Department of Justice, the United National Movement [UNM] has signed a contract with a lobbying firm in the US.
In particular, the UNM entered into an agreement with Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP on July 7, paying USD 360,000 for 6 months of services. This sum covers all expenses except travel costs, which must be agreed in advance.
As the document reads, the hired firm`s obligations include protecting the party`s interests before the US government, particularly promoting democratic processes and free elections in Georgia.
"We will provide advice and assistance to support the UNM`s diplomatic activities in the US, including advancement of relations between the Party and the US. Additionally, we will assist your efforts to ensure free and fair elections in the Republic of Georgia. Previous elections have been marred with irregularities and controversy, and our Firm will engage in a government relations strategy aimed at promoting democracy and transparency in the forthcoming election…
The term of this Agreement shall commence upon the date it is signed by both parties and shall continue until terminated by either party. Client agrees to pay Nelson Mullins an initial retainer fee of USD 360,000, representing payment for the first six months of services, payable in full upon execution of this Agreement", - reads the document.
