In connection with the tragic events that unfolded in Abkhazia on August 14, 1992, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Giorgi Jincharadze, together with the Chairman of Supreme Council of Abkhazia, Jemal Gamakharia, laid a wreath at the memorial to the heroes who perished for Georgia’s territorial integrity.
“August 14 stands as the gravest and most tragic day in Georgia’s recent history. I wish to pay tribute to our heroes, to the devoted fighters, to all those who sacrificed themselves for our country, dedicating their lives to the freedom of our homeland. I am confident that through the Georgian government’s pragmatic, consistent, and peaceful policy, we shall undoubtedly achieve life in a united Georgia alongside our Abkhazian sisters and brothers”, - said Giorgi Jincharadze.
33 years have passed since the commencement of military operations in Abkhazia.
