It is time for foreign actors to learn and accept that Georgia was a sovereign state and no longer merely a territory for endless political experiments. Such a statement made today Chairman of the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee of the Georgian Parliament.
“Many individuals were involved in this effort - funded by those same actors - who violated the law and the Constitution. They launched direct attacks on police officers and even on Parliament itself. When it came time to take legal action against these individuals, they began a campaign to defend their own network of agents.
Such actions would be severely punished in their own countries… So, they should drop the theatrics. It’s time they understand that Georgia is a functioning state, not a testing ground”, - said Irakli Kadagishvili.
After the verdict in the case of Mzia Amaglobeili, Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the EU spokesperson, the European Commissioner, and US Congressman Joe Wilson have all called on the Georgian Government to release the mentioned journalist suggesting the case may have political implications.
