The Government of Georgia will soon present the concept for higher education reform to the public. This topic was discussed today at a meeting of the Government Commission on Higher Education Reform, held at the Administration of the Government and chaired by Prime Minister of Georgia.
At the meeting, commission members finalized their positions regarding the concept of higher education reform. The document will be further refined in consultation with subject-matter experts, university leadership and representatives of the business sector. After this process, the final version of the reform concept will be publicly presented. Work on the concept has been underway for several months.
The meeting emphasized that the concept addresses key issues that will help resolve the challenges facing the higher education system over the coming years.
As Irakli Kobakhidze noted during the session, the concept will serve as a foundation for improving the quality of higher education in Georgia and for establishing a system in which young people will be able to obtain European-standard higher education within the country.
