We have historically connected Europe and Asia, West and East, our goal is to fully capitalize on this potential – Prime Minister

Prime Minister of Georgia emphasized the country’s strategic geographical location and its historical role in connecting Europe and Asia. As he said during his annual address to the Parliament, the “large-scale infrastructure projects currently underway would contribute to strengthening Georgia’s role as a transit and connectivity hub”.

“One of our top priorities is to enhance the country’s connectivity function. This is our historic role. Georgia holds a strategic geographic location - we have historically connected Europe and Asia, the West and the East - and our goal is to fully capitalize on this potential.

Infrastructure initiatives such as the construction of highways, development of the railway system, sea ports, and airports were all aimed at reinforcing this function. All these projects will help strengthen Georgia’s transit and connectivity role. It is also worth noting that two weeks ago we opened the Tbilisi Dry Port, built with Arab investment - another key project that will contribute to advancing our country’s connectivity”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
