Railway modernization project is being completed, after which the railway’s capacity will increase from 27,000,000 to 48,000,000 tons, said the Prime Minister of Georgia during his annual report to the parliament.

“Several major infrastructure projects are advancing, including railway modernization that will increase capacity from 27,000,000 to 48,000,000 tons, and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project, which is 98.5% complete.

The Anaklia Deep Sea Port construction represents another significant milestone, with the first phase to be completed no later than 2029.

The project’s first phase involves a USD 600 million investment and will enable the port to serve more than 600,000 containers annually”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
