I congratulate Tamar Taliashvili on her appointment as Georgia`s Ambassador to the United States, said Speaker of the Georgian Parliament.

"Many remember her as a former colleague in the Parliament, where she enjoyed a successful career. Before that, she worked effectively within the Sakrebulo [City Council] and later served in the Council of Europe. Importantly, Georgia will now be represented in the US by an Ambassador. This opens the door to the possibility of restoring and strengthening our relations.

We remain committed to the long-standing proposal for a genuine strategic partnership with the US - one grounded in the mutual national interests of both countries. In this regard, Tamar Taliashvili is an exemplary candidate for the position of ambassador. I am pleased that she will serve as Georgia`s representative in the US", - said Shalva Papuashvili.
