We are a country that has gone through four different wars over the past 35 years. Therefore, our country understands the value of peace better than anyone. We are doing everything we can to strengthen peace in our country, and - which is very important - we are doing quite well in this regard, announced Prime Minister of Georgia in his keynote speech delivered at the Regional Forum on Sustainable Development in Tbilisi.

“This forum has always served as a very interesting platform for exchanging views on important issues. It provides an excellent opportunity for discussions on various key topics. This year"s theme - peace and the role of peace in ensuring prosperity and socio-economic development - is especially important.

This event focuses on regional development, where peace, of course, plays a vital role. It is precisely peace that has enabled us to concentrate on the balanced socio-economic development of the regions within our country. In recent years, we have made substantial and notable progress in this direction. It is also very important that representatives from neighboring countries and cities, including around 40 local mayors and city council chairpersons, are attending the conference. For us, regional cooperation with different countries - especially with those in our immediate region - is crucial.

We are also pleased that the event is attended by high-ranking specialists and experts who will take part in interesting discussions over the next two days.
