February 25 is a day of resilience intertwined with hope - Salome Zourabichvili

While visiting the junkers memorial in Kojori, Salome Zourabichvili, the former president of Georgia, said that February 25 symbolizes Georgians` commitment to never surrender their independence or freedom.

"February 25 is a day of resilience intertwined with hope. It represents the unwavering spirit of the Georgian people, who refuse to relinquish either independence or freedom despite adversity… The people, the youth who fought in Tabakhmela and Kojori, persevered until the end. They did not abandon their homeland; they did not kneel but stood resolutely for a free and independent country.

Today, as we enjoy our freedom and independence, we are the heirs of that struggle - of the spirit, dedication, and commitment that have brought us to this moment. This legacy traces back centuries and will continue for centuries to come", - said Salome Zourabichvili.
