Prime Minister of Georgia visited the new building of the State Academic Ensemble of Georgian Folk Song and Dance ERISIONI, together with Tinatin Rukhadze, Minister of Culture of Georgia.

The Head of Government of Georgia reviewed the infrastructure of the newly-opened facility, which fully meets modern standards. In addition to rehearsal spaces, it includes a 100-seat concert hall, dressing rooms, a recording studio and administrative office spaces.

Irakli Kobakhidze congratulated Vano Chkhaidze, Director of ERISIONI and Shermandi Chkuaseli, Artistic Director along with the members of the ensemble on the transfer of the new building and wished them continued success: “For many years, the ensemble did not have a properly equipped building and now they can continue their creative work in a completely new space. You know the immense contribution this ensemble has made to the development of our culture and the preservation of our identity. The new building will enable them to achieve even greater success in the future and continue the work that began decades ago. This is extremely important for our country as a whole and for the development of our culture”.

The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude to MP Thea Tsulukiani [former Minister of Culture], under whose tenure the project was initiated and to [current] Minister of Culture Tika Rukhadze for bringing the initiative to completion.

The new building is fully accessible to persons with disabilities and has been transferred to the ERISIONI ensemble for indefinite use.
