The Prosecutor`s Office of Georgia has charged 19 individuals, including foreign citizens, with the facts of causing large amounts of damage to the state budget through fraud by an organized group, and the production and use of forged documents confirming property rights, committed as a group.

An investigation conducted by the Kvemo Kartli Regional Division of the Investigation Department of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia revealed that in 2025-2026, members of an organized group fictitiously re-exported 138 vehicles imported into Georgia from abroad using forged documents and did not remove them from Georgia within the time limit established by law, which they used for personal gain. By doing so, members of the organized group did not pay the tax established by law to the state budget, thereby causing damage to the state by 545,165 GEL.

The defendants were charged under Article 185, Part 3, Subparagraphs "a" and "b" of the Criminal Code of Georgia (property damage committed by fraud in a large amount by an organized group) and Article 210, Part 2, Subparagraph "a" (production of a document confirming a false property right for the purpose of use and use, which is not a security, committed by a group), Article 25.185, Part 3, Subparagraphs "a" and "b" (assistance in the production of a document confirming a false property right for the purpose of use, which is not a security, committed by a group), and Article 25.210, Part 2, Subparagraph "a" (assistance in the production of a document confirming a false property right for the purpose of use and use, which is not a security, committed by a group), which determines the type and extent of punishment. It provides for imprisonment from 4 to 7 years.

Based on the prosecutor`s request, the defendants have already been sentenced to a preventive measure.
