On the occasion of World Down Syndrome Day, the Chair of the Interim Commission on Women`s and Children`s Issues, Mariam Lashkhi, together with Commission members Rima Beradze, Irma Zavradashvili, and Vladimer Bozhadze, as well as members of the parliamentary majority Greta Tsitsava and Lika Shartava, visited the children and youth rehabilitation center "Children of the Sun."

MPs toured the center`s infrastructure, familiarized themselves with its programs, and presented gifts to the beneficiaries.

The center operates within the framework of the State Care and Assistance Agency for Victims of Trafficking, under the State Program for Social Rehabilitation and Child Care, and offers both educational and social development programs to children with special care needs.

World Down Syndrome Day is observed annually and aims to raise public awareness and strengthen support.
