Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will attend the funeral ceremony of Ilia II, and a delegation from the Vatican is also expected in Tbilisi.

On March 22, at exactly 12:00 PM, mourning bells will toll in all active churches and monasteries across the country.

In connection with the passing of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, the days of mourning will continue through the day of the funeral.

The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, passed away at the age of 93 on March 17. On March 22, according to his will, the Patriarch will be buried at the Sioni Patriarchal Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God in Tbilisi.
