The Catholicos-Patriarch of all Georgia Ilia II will be laid to rest at the Sioni Cathedral on March 22.

“According to the Patriarch’s wish, he will be buried at Sioni Cathedral; he expressed this desire to his close relatives”, - Bishop Iob told journalists after a session of the Holy Synod.

The Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II passed away on March 17, at the age of 93. Following his death, a period of mourning has been declared throughout Georgia.
