At the Palace of the Parliament of Georgia, a commemorative event was held in honor of the Cadets who were killed on 23 February 1921 in the battle against the Russian Army near Kojori-Tabakhmela.

To pay tribute to the memory of the Cadets who fell for Georgia`s unity, the Speaker of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, the Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, the President, Mikheil Kavelashvili, the Minister of Defence, Irakli Chikovani, the Mayor of Tbilisi, Kakha Kaladze, and the Chairperson of the Tbilisi City Assembly, Zurab Abashidze, laid wreaths at the Cadets` memorial in the inner courtyard of the Parliament Palace.

"Today serves as a reminder that Georgians have consistently demonstrated heroism at critical moments when our country requires protection. At the same time, this day reminds us that the challenges Georgia has historically faced have not disappeared. The rules-based world order that was established after the Second World War is collapsing before our eyes, and in fact, the same rules that existed 100 years ago are once again taking effect in the world. In this regard, any government bears special responsibility to prevent such catastrophes. Along with honoring and continually remembering our heroes, it is important to recognize that we need living heroes as well, and this is precisely the government`s responsibility. Today, together with the heroes of 1921 and our contemporary heroes, we must always remember that our responsibility is to preserve the independence and freedom of our country", - stated Shalva Papuashvili.

Representatives of the legislative and executive authorities also attended a memorial service for the fallen at the Annunciation Chapel located in the courtyard of the Parliament Palace.
