Mariam Kvrivishvili, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development met with her Armenian counterpart Gevorg Papoyan to discuss a broad range of issues related to bilateral economic cooperation.

During her official visit to Armenia, Kvrivishvili noted that Armenia was an important trade and economic partner for Georgia.

However, she added that there remained significant potential and resources for further development of cooperation, including in the area of investment.

“I had a very productive meeting with my Armenian colleague. Relations with our neighbouring country are special, and today’s meeting was used to discuss ways to further strengthen trade and economic ties between our countries. We are confident that this meeting will serve as another important foundation for deepening economic relations between our countries, as well as people-to-people ties. In the near future, we expect to achieve tangible results that will contribute to economic growth, increased investment, and closer relations between our peoples”, - said Marian Kvrivishvili.

The meeting emphasised the importance of bringing the business communities of the two countries closer together. The parties agreed to facilitate the organization of more B2B meetings, trade missions, and business forums to enhance communication between the private sectors. The ministers further highlighted that trade and economic relations between Georgia and Armenia had been developing steadily in recent years.

“Armenia is traditionally one of Georgia’s key trading partners: according to 2025 data, Armenia ranked 9th in terms of trade turnover and 5th in exports. It is important to deepen cooperation related to both new and traditional export products. We also discussed close cooperation in the tourism industry, as well as other areas of particular importance to both countries”, added Marian Kvrivishvili.
