The budget for 2026 is set for 5% economic growth; however, we believe we will surpass this target once again this year. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“Last year’s economic data has been compiled, and we have a preliminary indication. The economy grew by 7.5% in 2022, surpassing the initial forecast made by the International Monetary Fund and subsequently exceeding the revised forecast, a very significant achievement.

For the first time in history, Georgia’s economy exceeded 100 billion GEL at the end of 2025, and per capita income surpassed USD 10,000. By the end of 2022, our economy stood at 104 billion GEL.

Looking ahead to 2026, the budget aims for 5% economic growth; however, we believe we will once again exceed this target this year.

Based on current conservative forecasts, Georgia’s economy is expected to reach 114 billion GEL in 2026, with per capita income exceeding USD 11,000.

Nevertheless, as I mentioned, our ambitions are even greater.

We are optimistic, driven by the ambitious reforms undertaken in recent months, particularly within the Ministry of Economy and the state-owned enterprises. All of these efforts enable us to maintain even more optimistic projections for economic growth”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
