Customs officers discovered a large amount of undeclared cigarettes

At the customs checkpoint "Sarpi", an attempt to illegally import a large amount of undeclared cigarettes across the country`s border was prevented.

Customs officers of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, based on the relevant risk profile and suspicion, conducted a detailed physical inspection as well as checking belonging luggage/cars of Georgian and foreign citizens, and discovered a total of 4,560 undeclared cigarettes.

In accordance with Part 3 of Article 168 of the Customs Code of Georgia, 2 violators were sanctioned with the seizure of goods and a fine of 1,000 GEL was imposed on each of them.

In accordance with Part 31 of Article 168 of the Customs Code of Georgia, one violator, who was He was fined 3,000 GEL for committing the same act repeatedly.
