While international organisations objectively assess Georgia, some European bureaucrats follow political interests – Kaladze on European Commission`s study

While international organisations objectively assess Georgia, some European bureaucrats follow political interests. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi, while responding to the European Commission`s 2026 meta-study, which described Georgia as an irreplaceable strategic corridor.

"Due to our geopolitical position, our country functions as a kind of regional corridor, which is of great importance. Georgia is developing and progressing economically. Regarding our nation, there have been attempts to utilize us in various ways; calls for Georgia to join sanctions and to open a second front have been made. But we must act in a manner that safeguards our national interests and the welfare of our people.

We have repeatedly emphasized that the European future and the journey towards European integration are both highly significant and quite challenging. We face many obstacles along this journey, and unfortunately, unfair treatment sometimes occurs. Despite all these difficulties, we are implementing reforms, moving forward as a nation, and maintaining peace. That, above all, is what matters most", - said Kakha Kaladze.
