Inspectors of the Imereti Department of the National Food Agency have identified illegal cheese factories in Samtredia.
Individual entrepreneur Z. G. (address: Chekhov Street No. 4) was thermally processing raw milk without the mandatory recognition granted by the Agency and was not registered in the Register of Economic Activities. During the inspection, critical and non-critical non-conformities were identified, and food that was prepared in violation of the technological process was sealed.
Violations were also identified at the cheese factory located on Vasadze Street No. 8, where individual entrepreneur Z. K. was operating without registration in the Register of Economic Activities and mandatory recognition by the Agency. The enterprise did not conduct proper washing and disinfection, the infrastructure was damaged, sanitary and hygienic norms and labeling rules were violated at the facility, and a product containing milk that was considered harmful was sealed.
In accordance with the legislation, business operators were fined and the production process was suspended until the discrepancies were eliminated.
Imereti inspectors also identified two illegal cheese factories in the region in January of this year.
The National Food Agency calls on business operators not to produce and/or process food of animal origin (except for primary production) without recognition and to comply with food safety requirements.
