Prime Minister of Georgia meets Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais, UNWTO Secretary-General

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais, Secretary-General of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

The Head of Government of Georgia congratulated Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais on her election as Secretary-General and wished her every success in her new role. The Secretary-General thanked the Government of Georgia for supporting her candidacy.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the long-standing and fruitful cooperation between the Government of Georgia and UNWTO. Attention was drawn to the positive dynamics of growth in the tourism sector of Georgia and the country’s diverse tourism opportunities. It was noted that in 2025, the number of international visitors to Georgia exceeded 5.5 million, marking a historic record-high. The meeting also focused on steps taken by the Government of Georgia to further develop the country’s tourism potential. Irakli Kobakhidze invited Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais to visit Georgia.

The meeting took place in Dubai within the framework of the World Governments Summit (WGS) and was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili and Head of Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
